Tenon is a forward-deployed AI engineering firm based in Atlanta. We work directly with mid-market companies — typically PE-backed, operationally complex, and ready to move past strategy decks into working AI systems.
We started by building AI tools for our own operations. When those tools started generating real results, we realized the approach — embedded engineering, real systems, fast iteration — was exactly what other companies needed and weren't getting from traditional consultancies.
What we bring
We've spent years building software at enterprise scale — ML infrastructure, computer vision systems, and the backend services that make them work in production. We've also run products and businesses, which means we understand the gap between what's technically possible and what's actually valuable.
That combination — deep engineering plus business context — is what makes our AI implementations stick. We don't just build models. We build tools that fit how your team actually works.
The operational experience matters too. We've managed P&Ls, led cross-functional teams, and made the kinds of resource allocation decisions our clients face every day. When we recommend where to invest in AI, it's grounded in experience, not theory.
How we build
We build on the Anthropic Claude ecosystem — not because it's the only option, but because depth in one platform beats surface-level familiarity with five. We use Claude's API directly, the Model Context Protocol for system integrations, and custom tooling built on top of both.
We don't use LangChain, we don't use framework abstractions that hide what's actually happening, and we don't build generic chatbots. Every system we build is purpose-built for the specific problem it's solving.
The result is software that's faster, more reliable, and easier to maintain than what comes out of a framework-first approach.
